Heavy Duty Screw-in Tent Stakes for High Wind Camping – 4 Pack

So, I bought these for a camping trip to the beach, based on some reviews online and from here. I have to admit I was abit skeptical since the packaging doesn’t say it will work in sand. The short answer is: Yes they will work in sand, as long as you remove the top layer of loose sand and get down to where it’s more compact. The plastic tube/handle works quite well, though if you do get any sand on the tube and then use it to turn the spikes in, the tube will get scratched up when you remove it from the sand stake. As for how well they held up, I used these on a Coleman 8 person tent and they held up even in high winds. The last day I was at the beach, we had a wind storm move through with winds pushing past 30 mph. The tent itself didn’t hold up too well due to its size but it didn’t budge from where it was staked in. Definitely worth the investment. What I would suggest for anyone considering these is go with the large ones for the main stake points and then these little ones for the supports/rain flys (if you have them).
