Works as advertised. Haven’t noticed any issue with the polls locking too tightly. They’re very easy to use straightforward design. As others mentioned in the reviews, the silicone chest pond caps do come slightly deformed. But, only around the skirt on mine. They were already attached to the steel pin on each pole. Rubber caps are straight upright other than the base area of each cap. If that bothers anyone, I’m sure you could heat up some water on the stove top and just place the base of the cap inside of it, and then mold it back to the correct shape. Someone else mentioned their order didn’t come with the stakes and guy lines. Mine did. Was happy about that. Had already resigned myself to the fact they might only be included when you buy the larger set of four poles. Happy with condition of what was received. Well packaged double boxed. Everything wrapped up well in plastic bags. It’s exactly what I was hoping for. If I was backpacking, I might take a single pole. Use it somewhat like a walking stick. Then use it for setting up poncho shelter, or similar. Mainly would recommend set for car camping. Or in the winter time if you have sled to pull your gear or ATV. These aren’t overly heavy or extremely long, but when you start adding all the gear together, it gets a bit heavy. Also the carry bag is a decent quality. Has a nice barrel lock for cinching the bag shut can hold all the contents including the cordage and stakes. Has two rope cords that come off of the carry bag. So, if you were so inclined could wear it like a backpack. The steel tent stakes are different than any. I have presently with my tents. Look like they should be great for tough clay soil and maybe even in the winter for icy ground.
