Coleman Skydome Tent Easily Sets Up in 5 Minutes for Camping

I was looking for a reasonably priced tent where I could stand fully upright (I’m 5 ft 8 in tall). The price (44% off) and center height (6 ft) of this tent appeared to fit the bill. I wasn’t excited about the color and camo pattern but I purchased it anyway (I did not opt for the discounted “used” purchase option.” To become familiar with the tent set up, I tried setting it up at home before taking it on a camping trip. It’s a good thing I did. One of the plastic buckles was in pieces and one of the elastic cords connecting the pole segments was completely cut resulting in a detached pole segment. Where was the quality control before this was shipped out? I still liked the price and height of the tent and requested an exchange. The replacement tent was already on its way before I dropped off the return at the UPS store. As soon as the replacement arrived I could tell from the packaging and tape job that I was probably sent someone else’s return. Sure enough, as soon as I opened the box there were pieces of another broken piece of plastic, this time one of the small hooks that attaches the tent to one of the poles. Again, where was the quality control? Everything else was intact so I proceeded with putting up the tent and everything else was fine. I replaced the broken plastic hook with a medium sized carabiner clip and the tent attached to the pole perfectly. I debated sending the second tent back but was worried the third tent would be damaged even worse. Because the carabiner worked I decided to keep the tent. If you purchase, just be aware you might be getting damaged goods.
